RapidoShrink Fast Heat-shrink Oven for i-series and μ-series Fusion Splicers The RapidoShrink fast heat-shrink oven offers innovative technology that perfectly matches with the two fusion splicer families of the i-series and μ-series. It enables shrink times of less than 20 seconds. This enables splice cycle times of less than 45 seconds per splice, fiber preparation included. Energy consumption with the new concept is more than 50% less than with standard heat-shrink oven concepts. Until now, the heat-shrink oven has been one of the significant energy consumers, therefore this new model greatly extends the operating time of the fusion splicers in the battery mode. The RapidoShrink heat-shrink oven is available with cables for the i-series and μ-series fusion splicer families and as an autonomous device for operation independent of the fusion splicer. In combination with the fusion splicers of the i-series and μ-series the oven is fastened to the fusion splicer with a mounting bracket. The oven is powered by the fusion splicer and can be controlled by the fusion splicer software.
